Fortnite Ch. 6 Season 2 Debuts Feb 21 with Mortal Kombat Crossover

Epic Games has officially unveiled the upcoming Battle Pass skins for Fortnite’s next season, generating significant excitement among players.

Breaking from tradition, this season drops any codename in favor of a bold official title: Wanted. The theme centers around high-stakes heists, complete with armed criminals, gold-laden vehicles, and dramatic bank vault explosions—delivering all the action-packed elements fans expect from a cinematic robbery.

The new season kicks off on February 21 and features an exciting collaboration with the iconic fighting franchise Mortal Kombat. As part of the crossover, fan-favorite character Sub-Zero will be joining the Battle Pass roster. The heist motif is also strongly reflected throughout the skin lineup, reinforcing the season's storyline and aesthetic.

This collaboration coincides with the promotional push for Mortal Kombat 2, the upcoming film starring Karl Urban as Johnny Cage and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, further deepening the crossover appeal.

Battle Pass skins can be purchased using V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency, with each skin priced at 1,500 V-Bucks—consistent with previous seasons.

Confirmed returning weapons include the Flare Gun, C4, and the Diplomat turret. While other weapon additions remain unconfirmed, speculation is running high.

Reflecting back on Chapter 4 Season 4—the last heist-themed season—players are hopeful for the return of the EMP Grenade, classic SMGs, the Tommy Gun, and possibly even the Grappler, although these remain unverified rumors at this point.

One of the most talked-about updates arriving with the Wanted season is the introduction of Smart Building, a quality-of-life feature that intelligently predicts the structure you intend to build based on your aim direction.

In line with the heist narrative, gameplay mechanics have been refreshed. Traditional keycards are being replaced by vault breaches, requiring players to use Meltanite—Fortnite’s version of thermite—to blast open secure vaults and access valuable loot inside. This mechanic promises to add a fresh layer of strategy and excitement to matches.
