Finn Jones Vows to Silence Iron Fist Critics

Charlie Cox's Daredevil has successfully transitioned from Netflix to the MCU. Could other members of The Defenders make a comeback as well? Iron Fist actor Finn Jones recently expressed his enthusiasm, stating: "I’m here and I’m ready."

Jones last portrayed Danny Rand seven years ago in the second season of the Iron Fist Netflix series and in The Defenders, where the martial arts expert joined forces with Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).

Jones' interpretation of Iron Fist was not as well-received by fans as the other Defenders characters, leading some to question whether Marvel would exclude Iron Fist from its future MCU plans.

However, Daredevil's return to the MCU after the Netflix era has sparked hope for a continuation of The Defenders storyline, with recent reports suggesting Marvel is "exploring" the possibility.

At the recent anime convention LaConve in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones acknowledged the criticism of his portrayal of Iron Fist but asked both fans and Marvel for another opportunity.

"[There is a] willingness among fans to see that happen," Jones told the convention audience when asked about a potential return as Iron Fist. "There’s also a significant number of fans who would prefer not to see it. I’m very aware of the critiques regarding the character and my performance.

"My response to that is, give me a f***ing chance. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

Daredevil: Born Again continues the Daredevil narrative that began on Netflix, which once hosted its own smaller-scale Marvel universe through series like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These shows and the broader Defenders storyline are now officially part of MCU canon, integrated alongside other MCU series and films on Disney+. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, originally exclusive to Netflix, also makes an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again.
