On April 27, user 2Chrispy shared a YouTube video titled "I Decoded the Ancient Monkey Scrolls of Donkey Kong Bananza," outlining his journey to interpret the mysterious "Ancient Monkey Scrolls." This covert banana-based writing system appeared across all the game’s trailers, gameplay videos, and official website.

Invented languages in video games are nothing new—Nintendo previously created Hylian for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, cracking a secret language before a game even launches is unprecedented.

This achievement highlights the extreme dedication of Donkey Kong fans—or perhaps how eager they are for new details about the game. While the alphabet's accuracy remains unverified, 2Chrispy's thorough research and detailed methodology have convinced many that he has accurately identified the symbols.

He noticed that the symbols on the sign matched the number of letters in "exchange," and the repeated letter "e" supported his hypothesis. He repeated this approach with other symbols found in screenshots and trailers, using a word-finder tool to help complete the puzzle.
