Elden Ring Testers Find Fell Omen Returns Through Morgott's Jump-Scare Invasions

The Fell Omen bosses have become a notorious part of the Elden Ring experience, and it's thrilling to see FromSoftware expand their presence in Elden Ring Nightreign, unleashing them across the Lands Between. Morgott, a familiar adversary from the original game, continues to haunt players in Nightreign, where his phantom versions can suddenly invade your gameplay, much like in the original Elden Ring.

In Nightreign, Morgott—or rather, an enhanced version referred to as an unnamed Fell Omen—can surprise players at any moment, adding an element of unpredictability and excitement to the game. Not only does he carry over the surprise element from Elden Ring, but he also comes equipped with new voice lines and additional moves, making each encounter fresh and challenging. It's only fitting that if you're allowed to bring two friends into the fray, Morgott gets to up his game as well.

Apart from his invasive tactics, the Fell Omen can also appear as a formidable end-of-night boss, providing a climactic battle as the sun sets during the Elden Ring Nightreign test sessions.

During the recent Elden Ring Nightreign test sessions over the weekend, many players, including the renowned "Let Me Solo Her," faced off against Morgott. The community's feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with players enjoying the invasion mechanic and sharing their experiences across various locations—from elevators to towers. Morgott's ability to appear unexpectedly has been a highlight, with humorous outcomes often resulting from these encounters.

The success of Morgott's invasions has sparked excitement about the potential inclusion of other iconic enemies. For instance, the Pursuer from Dark Souls 2 could be an excellent addition, while some fans, including myself, dream of seeing Hunters from Bloodborne invade, though this seems less likely.

There's also speculation about deeper mechanics behind the Fell Omen invasions. For instance, GamesRadar reported an incident where an Omen invasion resulted in a co-op partner being taken out and left with a curse mark, hinting at intriguing new gameplay elements.

Despite server issues during the first network test, a significant number of players engaged with Elden Ring Nightreign over the weekend. The full impact of Nightreign will become clearer on May 30, but in the meantime, you can read our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign here.
