Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles
FromSoftware's upcoming title will grant early access exclusively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a substantial portion of the fanbase from early access.
Bandai Namco has yet to explain the omission of PC players from this initial testing phase. However, selected console players will enjoy a preview of the game ahead of its official launch.
Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, offering new challenges within a dark and ominous setting. While console gamers get the first look, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.
A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute play sessions are too short to allow for message sending and reading. He explained, "We removed the messaging feature due to insufficient time for sending or reading messages within the roughly forty-minute session duration."
