EA Sports UFC 5: Undefeated Contender Arrives

EA Sports UFC 5 receives a significant update on January 9th, launching at 1 PM ET for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update, Patch 1.18, introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.

The update demonstrates EA Vancouver's continued commitment to EA Sports UFC 5, addressing earlier player concerns regarding the initial roster. Since launch in October 2023, consistent updates have boosted roster parity with the current UFC top ten rankings to 98%.

Patch 1.18 brings more than just Murzakanov, a Light Heavyweight with impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking). Three additional fighter alter egos are also included, though their identities remain undisclosed. The update also includes minor bug fixes and a gameplay adjustment: the stamina cost of the muscle modifier is lowered from x3.125 to 2.5. Specific bug fixes include corrected translations for certain languages and a resolution to a Stand and Bang Ranked match display issue. Updated portraits for Stipe and Jones from UFC 309 also feature in the patch.

Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers gain access to EA Sports UFC 5 via EA Play starting January 14th. Note that this is an Ultimate tier benefit, not available through the standard subscription.
