The wait is nearly over! BioWare will announce the official release date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard in a special trailer airing today, August 15th, at 9:00 AM PDT (12:00 PM EDT).

BioWare's Twitter (X) announcement expressed excitement to share this with fans, and detailed a roadmap of upcoming content: "In the coming weeks, we’ll also have high-level warrior combat gameplay, Companions Week, and more." Here's the schedule:

A Decade in the Making

Dragon Age: The Veilguard's development has been a lengthy process, facing numerous delays spanning almost a decade. Development started in 2015, after Dragon Age: Inquisition, but was impacted by BioWare's focus on Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, leading to resource reallocation and a complete halt due to initial design conflicts with the company's live-service strategy.

Revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," the game was officially announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before its current title.
