Disney+ Renews Spider-Man Animated Series for Two More Seasons

Marvel's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the Disney+ animated series chronicling Peter Parker's freshman year, has already been greenlit for not one, but two more seasons!

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed in an interview with The Movie Podcast that Season 2 is well underway, with completed scripts and half the storyboards finished—all before Season 1 even premieres on January 29th! Even more exciting, Season 3 has also received the official go-ahead.

"I've fallen head over heels for these characters," Winderbaum shared. "I've read all the scripts for Season 2, and we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building is truly remarkable, and it starts to pay off beautifully in Season 1. You connect with these characters, and that connection deepens with each subsequent season."

Winderbaum mentioned upcoming discussions with Trammell in a couple of weeks to discuss the pitch for Season 3, but offered no details on release dates for either Season 2 or 3.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man follows Peter Parker's high school adventures as he discovers his superpowers. Whether Seasons 2 and 3 will chronicle his sophomore and junior years, or explore other freshman-year storylines, remains to be seen.
