Disney Mirrorverse’s Light Fades this Year
Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring reimagined Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Kabam, the developer, announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game is already unavailable on the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently deactivated.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse initially generated significant excitement among Disney fans. However, a lengthy two-year early access beta and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. The game's demanding shard collection system, requiring substantial investment for character maximization, also proved a deterrent for many. Despite these shortcomings, the game's character designs were widely praised for their creativity and visual appeal.
The recent EOS announcement, following the release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior, took many players by surprise. This isn't Kabam's first abrupt game closure; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
