Development of Crysis 4 Temporarily Paused Due to Financial Difficulties
Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Delay
Crytek has confirmed a restructuring plan involving staff reductions. Approximately 60 employees, representing 15% of its 400-person workforce, will be laid off due to ongoing financial difficulties.
Simultaneously, the company announced a temporary halt to development on the next Crysis game, a decision made in Q3 2024. Resources are now being focused entirely on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
The studio explored reassigning affected employees to other projects, but this proved impractical. Cost-cutting measures were implemented, but ultimately, layoffs were deemed necessary.

Crytek's future plans prioritize expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis title is indefinitely delayed. Affected employees will receive severance packages and career support.
Despite the challenges, Crytek remains positive about its long-term prospects, emphasizing continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
