He also noted that development is further along than publicly perceived, though specifics remained undisclosed. This news may disappoint fans, but it's a more positive outlook than previous speculation suggesting a 2027 release.

This year's June trailer showcased intense zombie gunfights and Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic vehicles. The game's narrative unfolds years after the apocalypse, focusing on human survivors building and defending settlements against the undead.

State of Decay 3 is slated for PC and Xbox Series X|S release. The previous installment launched in 2018.
