Confirmed: Marvel Rivals will be getting 2 heroes every 3 months
NetEase Games keeps Marvel Rivals fresh with regular updates, aiming for a new release every six weeks and two new heroes each quarter. This ensures continuous engagement and discovery for players.
Game director Guangyun Chen explained that each season's update is divided into two parts: one new hero in the first half, another in the second. This strategy maintains player interest. Beyond heroes, updates will include new maps, storylines, and objectives. Previously announced characters include Blade (currently unavailable) and leaked information about Ultron. The Fantastic Four's addition has also been revealed.
According to GameLook, the game generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion from China. This marks a significant foray into gaming for Marvel, a powerhouse in film.
Marvel Rivals successfully filled a void in the hero-shooter genre left by the less-than-stellar reception of Square Enix's Avengers. NetEase delivered a high-quality game featuring compelling characters, receiving positive reviews upon its release.
