How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
Initially, you begin as a Soul Spirit. To become a Shinigami, accept the first quest offered by the NPC, Hurt Shinigami. This choice is irreversible; you cannot switch to the Hollow path unless you become a Visored (explained later). If you prefer the Hollow path, consult our Hollow progression guide. The choice between Shinigami and Hollow is time-sensitive. Choosing Hollow requires breaking your chain immediately. If you choose Shinigami, the chain will break slowly (one segment every two minutes), eventually leading to a Hollow transformation if left unattended. If this happens, our resurrection moves lists will be your Hollow endgame guide.

Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your first quest involves purifying six Lost Souls. Subsequent quests, marked by a red crosshair, involve tasks such as delivering a letter, defeating Hollows, and confronting Corrupted Shinigami. These quests lead you to level 15. Utilize the Urahara shop for a powerful sword and consider the bus stop or the infinite fast travel (149 Robux) for efficient navigation of the large map. Quest types include repeatable, progression, and path-specific quests (Vizard, Airwalk).

Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
Strategic skill point allocation maximizes your Reiatsu. The Reiatsu Skill Tree features Kido abilities. Kido Nodes increase Kido damage, while Reiatsu Nodes boost your maximum Reiatsu. Kido abilities include:
- Caja Negacion: Lightning beam. Enhanced with Electric for area-of-effect damage.
- Shakkaho: Explosive energy ball. Ragdoll adds ragdoll effect; Fire adds burning effect.
- Chain Bind: Energy chains to pull enemies closer.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with light rods.
- Thunder Sear: Slow-moving lightning ball that explodes on contact.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Reaching level 15 unlocks the Shikai Training quest from Urihiro. Defeating Urahara Kisuke grants Shikai powers. Note: This fight is challenging at level 15; consider reaching level 25 or higher for an easier victory.

Shikai grants a random powerful ability to your weapon. Re-roll it at the Urahara Shop if unsatisfied. Activate Shikai (default Y key) when your Rage Bar is full. It ends automatically when Reiatsu is depleted or when you release the Y key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Shikai Mastery Levels are determined by Mastery Points earned by using Shikai. Higher Mastery Levels reduce Rage consumption and grant visual effects:
- Level 1 (1-149 Points): Transparent Aura
- Level 2 (150-299 Points): Enhanced particle aura
- Level 3 (300-499 Points): Lightning boost
- Level 4 (500+ Points): Flying stones aura
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Reaching level 50 unlocks the Visored quest at the Vizard’s Warehouse. Becoming a Visored requires defeating the King of Hueco Mundo for a Hogyoku (1% drop rate). This allows you to switch between Shinigami and Hollow forms using your Hollow Mask.

Hollow Era Visored Mastering
Visored perks include Mask Control (reduces Hollow control) and the Visored node (extends mask usage and damage).

Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Allows switching to Hollow form.
- Cero: Powerful Reiatsu beam.
- Final Cero: Crushing Cero attack from above.
- Vasto Rage: Temporary transformation into a powerful Hollow.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Use the lock-on button to target enemies, especially during lag. Learn to block attacks. Invest in the bus teleport for efficient travel. Prioritize Strength and Speed skill points early on. Use Reiatsu sense (J key) to reveal markers. While Hollows offer unique gameplay, Shinigami might be preferable for players who dislike repetitive tasks.
