Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Title Update 1
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage competition based on fast clear times. In response to this update, Capcom has issued a stern warning to players about cheating and the use of external tools to manipulate rankings. The company stated on its Monster Hunter X/Twitter account, "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."
Capcom's commitment to maintaining a fair gaming environment extends beyond just the cheaters themselves. The company also cautioned that players engaging in multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk having their quest completion times invalidated and their "right to rewards" revoked for the entire party. "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," Capcom advised, encouraging players to report any instances of cheating they encounter.
The new quests will offer attractive rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some of these will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the stakes, it's understandable that Capcom is taking a firm stance against cheating to ensure the integrity of these rewards and the overall gaming experience.
