BrownDust2 Unveils Onsen Training Update with New Story

Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first major content update for BrownDust2 following its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update introduces an exciting blend of action and fun to the game.

Onsen Training transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, where they can engage in swordfighting battles and tackle various BrownDust2 style challenges. The update also introduces a humorous twist with the inclusion of mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys, adding a wild element to the mix.

BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training

The update introduces three new characters to the game. Ventana, the protagonist of the story, along with Liberta, are available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains exclusive to the narrative.

Set in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, the Onsen Training event story features a total of 30 battles, divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.

The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is determined to reclaim her honor after a crushing defeat by a new student, Justia. Seeking to enhance her physical strength, Ventana journeys to a snowy mountain hot spring. However, her training is disrupted by the chaotic Snowy Mountain Monkeys.

Blade, a legendary graduate of the Kendo Club, comes to her rescue but refuses to train her. That's when Liberta, the hot spring manager, steps in, promising to help Ventana win Blade's training.

There’s a New Mini-Game

A new mini-game, Onsen Tile Tactics, challenges players to clear tiles against the clock. The event story unfolds in phases, beginning with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating in Beyond Legend by the third week.

Players will face both returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, while the third week introduces the fiery Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a massive monkey that becomes stronger when targeting enemies with damage-over-time (DoT) effects.

Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no specific weaknesses, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and requires significant chain stacks to defeat.

Players can also collect new gear and costumes. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, which can be obtained until February 13th.
