Boss battles, Mechagodzilla and Kong: details on the Fortnite and Monsterverse collaboration
The highly anticipated Godzilla skin, slated for release in Fortnite on January 17th, has had its details prematurely revealed via online leaks. Epic Games recently pushed an update containing the game files for this crossover with the Monsterverse. Dataminers have uncovered the specifics, revealing that beyond the standard Godzilla skin obtainable through the battle pass, players can purchase a bundle featuring Mechagodzilla and Kong skins from the item shop. This bundle will also include custom jetpacks and pickaxes designed for both characters.
A new boss event will launch concurrently on January 17th. One fortunate player will transform into a gigantic Godzilla, wielding its iconic atomic breath. Players will need to collaborate to defeat this colossal foe. The player inflicting the most damage will receive a medallion granting a special ability.
The Mechagodzilla and Kong bundle will be available in the Fortnite store at the usual time, priced as follows:
- Kong: 1500 V-bucks
- Mechagodzilla: 1800 V-bucks
- Two pickaxes: 800 V-bucks each
- One emote: 400 V-bucks
- Two wraps: 500 V-bucks each
- Complete bundle: 2800 V-bucks
Meanwhile, Fortnite's roster of guest appearances continues to expand. Hints suggest the arrival of the popular vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. Social media interactions between Hatsune Miku's official account (reporting a missing backpack) and the Fortnite Festival account (confirming possession of said backpack) have fueled speculation. Beyond the standard Vocaloid skin, a "Miku the Catgirl" variant, a unique pickaxe, and a virtual Hatsune Miku concert are rumored to be included.
