Does Avowed Support Multiplayer Co-op or PvP?

Avowed does not feature multiplayer support, whether in co-op or player versus player (PvP) modes. You'll embark on your adventure solo, accompanied only by NPC companions, similar to The Outer Worlds. These companions will assist you throughout your journey, but every enemy you encounter, no matter their strength, will be controlled by the game's AI. There's no Sniper Elite-style invasion feature allowing other players to disrupt your game. In short, Avowed is a strictly single-player experience with no co-op, PvP, or invasion modes. However, this wasn't always the plan.

What Happened to Avowed’s Planned Multiplayer?

If you recall Avowed being advertised with co-op, you're not experiencing the Mandela Effect. Obsidian Entertainment initially intended to include multiplayer co-op in the game. However, as development progressed, they decided to focus less on co-op, feeling they were "too focused on co-op" (via Dexerto). Co-op was initially used as a selling point to attract investors. While it's hoped the investors weren't too disappointed, Avowed stands strong as a single-player experience without needing co-op.

Is There an Avowed Co-Op Mod?

As of now, no one has announced plans for an Avowed co-op PC mod. While it's possible such a mod could emerge in the future, creating one would be significantly more complex than, say, modding dragons into Macho Man Randy Savage in Skyrim. Speaking of Skyrim, it did receive a co-op mod years after its release, but Obsidian has confirmed they won't be adding co-op to Avowed post-launch.
