Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down

Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch.

The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation and is preparing for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.

Closure Details:

• EOS Date: March 28th, 2025.
• In-game Purchases: Disabled. Remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown.
• Final Events: Koei Tecmo promises new content and events leading up to the closure.

Reasons for Closure:

The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason. The game struggled to gain traction, facing criticism almost immediately after launch. Player complaints centered on the gacha system, perceived issues with gameplay balance (including excessive power creep), and monetization strategies. These factors ultimately led to the decision to shut down the global server.

While the global version's first anniversary was celebrated on January 25th, 2025, its lifespan will unfortunately be short-lived. Players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to enjoy any remaining content before the servers go offline.
