Anno 117: Pax Romana Trailer Released Roman Empire Expansion Gameplay

Ubisoft Mainz has offered a closer look at Anno 1800's successor, Anno 117: Pax Romana, in a recent trailer. While previous announcements highlighted Lazio and Albion as explorable regions, the new preview suggests Lazio serves as an introductory area before the main focus shifts to Albion.

Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that the initially peaceful Lazio is disrupted by a catastrophic event, forcing players to venture into the uncharted territories of Britain (Albion). Albion presents significant challenges: a harsh climate, resistant native tribes, and its remoteness from Rome create complex governance issues.

Players take on the role of a governor, tasked with navigating these difficulties through diplomacy as well as might. Respecting local customs is key to establishing harmony. A notable feature is the ability to customize ships, strategically balancing speed (via oarsmen) and offensive capabilities (with archery turrets).

Anno 117: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
