Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series

It's as if fans couldn't resist the allure of seeing Alicia Silverstone don the iconic yellow and plaid once more. The beloved actress is set to reprise her role as Cher Horowitz in an eagerly anticipated Clueless sequel series, slated for Peacock.

Currently in development with the streaming giant, according to Variety, the exact plot details remain shrouded in mystery. However, we do know that Silverstone's involvement is a highlight, and the series will continue the narrative from the beloved 1995 film. This project marks a departure from the Clueless spin-off Peacock had previously planned in 2020.

The creative team behind this revival includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for co-creating the original Gossip Girl series and executive producing its reboot. They will collaborate with writer Jordan Weiss to pen the series, and all three will also serve as executive producers. Joining them are Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of Clueless, and Robert Lawrence, the film's initial producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to produce this exciting continuation.

This isn't the first time Clueless has transitioned to the small screen. Following the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the role of Cher, rather than Silverstone.

Silverstone has already dipped her toes back into the world of Clueless, reprising her role in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten. It's clear she's eager to revisit Cher's wardrobe, and we're all here for it.
