Durante el Nintendo Switch 2 Direct de hoy en día, Nintendo mostró varios aspectos del nuevo sistema. El Nintendo Switch 2 cuenta con una pantalla más grande de 7.9 pulgadas en comparación con el interruptor original, manteniendo el mismo grosor de 13.9 mm. La pantalla ahora presenta aproximadamente el doble de los píxeles, admitiendo una resolución de 1080p en el modo portátil a hasta 120 fps. Es una pantalla LCD con capacidades HDR, y cuando se acopla, también puede manejar una resolución de hasta 4K con HDR.

Los nuevos controladores Joy-Con 2 están conectados magnéticamente y se pueden separar utilizando un botón de liberación ubicado en la parte posterior.
