Vay Returns to Android with Enhanced Graphics
SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a revitalized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG receives a modern makeover, boasting enhanced visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller compatibility.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay enjoyed a 2008 iOS re-release courtesy of SoMoGa. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.
Enhanced Vay Features:
The revamped Vay features over 100 enemies and a dozen formidable bosses. Explore over 90 diverse areas, each brimming with adventure. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty levels, catering to various player preferences.
Convenience is key with the inclusion of an auto-save function. Bluetooth controller support offers flexible gameplay options. Upgrade your characters with new equipment and spells as they level up, utilizing an AI system for autonomous combat.
The Narrative:
Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennia-long interstellar war, Vay unfolds on a technologically underdeveloped planet after a catastrophic machine crash-lands. This war machine, designed solely for destruction, wreaks havoc on the land.
Your adventure begins on your wedding day, when your wife is abducted. Embark on an epic quest to rescue her and potentially save the world from the relentless war machines.
Vay's compelling narrative blends nostalgic charm with modern sensibilities. True to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. Immerse yourself in nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.
Download the premium version of Vay ($5.99) from the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for more gaming news, including our coverage of the Loving Reveries update in Tears of Themis.
