Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update

Stellar Blade's recent update, Patch 1.009, brought the highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, but unfortunately, also introduced some critical bugs.

Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix

The update caused game-breaking issues for some players. A significant bug softlocks players during a main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing progression. Additional problems include game crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie camera and visual glitches with new cosmetic items on Eve.

Developers Shift Up are actively working on a hotfix to address these problems. They strongly advise against attempting to force quest progression, as this could lead to a permanent softlock, even after the hotfix is released. Patience is key while waiting for the patch.

NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements

Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update

The NieR: Automata collaboration is a major highlight of Patch 1.009. The developers cite NieR: Automata as a significant inspiration for Stellar Blade, and this collaboration, a testament to the mutual respect between Directors Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro, delivers 11 exclusive items. Players can find Emil, the NieR character, within Stellar Blade's world to acquire these rewards.

The much-requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. Four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) that alters Tachy Mode's appearance have also been added. Further customization options include a "No Ponytail" setting. The update also boasts improved lip-sync for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes for a smoother gaming experience.
