New Heroes Join Marvel Rivals Every 6 Weeks
NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch content plan for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. Creative Director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview with Metro that each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This commitment to regular content updates also includes new seasonal stories and maps. Chen emphasized the goal of continuously enhancing the player experience and maintaining community engagement.
The first season, "Eternal Night Falls," already showcased this strategy, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. Maintaining this pace with iconic Marvel characters will be a significant undertaking.
While the game launched with a strong roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, and others, numerous fan-favorite characters remain. Speculation points towards Blade's appearance in Season 2, with Daredevil and Deadpool also highly anticipated. NetEase's continued success suggests they are well-positioned to meet this challenge.
Season 1 also included substantial balance adjustments and gameplay refinements, with further improvements planned for future updates. For more on Marvel Rivals, explore articles covering the Invisible Woman's use against bots, the Hero Hot List, and the use of mods despite potential bans.
