Character customization is a key feature in Monster Hunter Wilds, offering players extensive options to personalize their hunter and palico. This guide details how to modify both physical appearance and outfits.

Altering Your Hunter and Palico's Appearance:

Monster Hunter Wilds provides a detailed character creator accessible throughout the game. After unlocking the base camp, access the Appearance Menu within your tent (using L1 or R1). Select "Change Appearance" to revisit the character creator and adjust your hunter's and palico's physical features.

Outfit Changes and Layered Armor:

Layered Armor customization is available from the game's outset. Navigate to the Appearance Menu in your tent and choose "Equipment Appearance." This allows you to equip cosmetic Layered Armor pieces for both your hunter and palico, independent of your equipped armor's stats. Note that you can only use unlocked Layered Armor items; transmogrification of existing armor sets isn't supported.
