Avowed: Tier II/Fine Weapons, Armor Acquisition Unveiled
In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature mostly Common (Level I) weapons and enemies. However, as the difficulty increases to Level II, you'll need superior Fine (Tier II) equipment. This guide explains how to acquire and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.
Upgrading Weapons and Armor:
Some Fine Quality weapons and armor can be found or purchased directly. Others require upgrading. Gear effectiveness is tracked by Quality, indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman numeral. Common (I) gear is green, while Fine (II) gear is blue. Three intermediate upgrade levels (+1 to +3) exist between each Quality level.
To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), use a workbench located at Party Camps. Each +1 to +3 upgrade requires specific materials depending on the gear type. After reaching +3, a final upgrade to Fine (II) is possible, requiring Adra – a rare crystal obtained through quests, merchant purchases, or dismantling Unique items.
Locating and Purchasing Fine (II) Gear:
While upgrading is effective, it's resource-intensive. Alternatively, Fine (II) weapons and armor can occasionally be found early in Dawnshore, typically from Level II enemies, especially Bounties. However, Common gear is significantly less effective against Level II foes, so carry ample health potions.
Fine gear is also sold by merchants in Paradis. Access to Paradis is granted after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate nearby stalls near the Paradis Bounty Board: Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister sells standard Fine weapons and armor (pictured above).
This comprehensive guide provides multiple avenues for obtaining Fine weapons and armor in Avowed, ensuring you're well-equipped for the challenges ahead.
