El servidor global de Romancing SaGa Re:universe cerrará el 2 de diciembre de 2024. Si bien la versión japonesa continúa, esto marca el final de una ejecución de cuatro años para el lanzamiento global, que se lanzó en junio de 2020.

Las compras dentro de la aplicación y los intercambios de Google Play Points ya han cesado. Los jugadores tienen hasta diciembre para disfrutar del contenido restante del juego.

La versión global, a pesar de sus impresionantes imágenes y su generoso sistema gacha, recibió comentarios mixtos de los jugadores. La falta de actualizaciones de contenido importantes, como la región de Solistia y las unidades de 6 estrellas (disponibles en la versión japonesa desde hace casi un año), contribuyó a su declive.
