Jugador First Games ha anunciado que la temporada 5 de MultiverSus marcará el final del juego de lucha de la plataforma Warner Bros., con el telón final el 30 de mayo de 2025 a las 9 a.m. PST. El estudio compartió esta noticia a través de una publicación de blog en su sitio web, lo que indica la conclusión del luchador cruzado que se lanzó el 28 de mayo del año anterior. La temporada 5 comenzará la próxima semana el 4 de febrero y se ejecutará hasta la fecha de finalización del juego en mayo de 2025. En ese momento, el juego en línea cesará, pero el jugador de los primeros juegos ha asegurado a los jugadores que todos los que ganaron y compró contenido seguirá siendo accesible fuera de línea a través de los modos de juego y entrenamiento locales.

El jugador de los primeros juegos también ha confirmado que las transacciones de dinero real para Multiversus ya no están disponibles a partir de hoy. Sin embargo, los jugadores aún pueden usar Gleamium y Tokens de personajes para acceder al contenido del juego hasta que el soporte finalice el 30 de mayo. En ese momento, Multiversus se eliminará de la tienda PlayStation, Microsoft Store, Steam y Epic Games Store.

La decisión de terminar con Multiversus se produce después de que Warner Bros. Discovery calificó el proyecto como una decepción significativa. Durante una llamada financiera en noviembre, la compañía reveló que MultiverSus había tenido un rendimiento inferior, lo que llevó a un trabajo de $ 100 millones en su sector de juegos.
