La presidenta de Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, ha respondido a los informes que sugieren que se retirará en 2025, afirmando firmemente: "La verdad es, y solo quiero decir fuerte y claro, no me retiro". En medio de la especulación alimentada por un informe de Puck News, que afirmó que Kennedy se retiraría al final de su contrato este año, y anteriormente había considerado retirarse en 2024, Kennedy aclaró su postura sobre su futuro en Lucasfilm.

Según Deadline, Kennedy está colaborando con el CEO de Disney, Bob Iger, en un plan de sucesión, marcando su 13 ° año al timón. Según los informes, el creador de Star Wars Rebels y actual director creativo de Lucasfilm, Dave Filoni, está en una "posición fuerte" para sucederla.
