Mesopotamian Adventure Unveiled: "My Father Lied" Debuts in May

Author : Eleanor Update : Feb 02,2025

Unravel the mystery of your father's disappearance in My Father Lied, launching May 30th!

Ahmed Alameen, writer and filmmaker, presents his debut point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied. This solo-developed narrative-driven puzzler draws inspiration from Mesopotamian history.

Step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman who embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind her father's vanishing twenty years prior. Her investigation is ignited by the revelation of a previously unknown brother.

Initially a collaborative project, Alameen took the reins after his team dissolved, mastering game design to complete his vision.

Gameplay involves classic point-and-click mechanics, guiding Huda through stunning, albeit uniquely rendered, environments. Solve intricate puzzles, piece together fragmented images, decipher codes, and more. Alameen cites Myst, Heaven's Vault, and the works of H.P. Lovecraft as key influences.

Alameen's innovative approach utilizes a blend of 2D and 360-degree imagery, even in the meticulously crafted, frame-by-frame cutscenes. This technique ensures high-fidelity visuals accessible to a wide range of PC hardware.

My Father Lied arrives on May 30th, priced at $10.99/€, on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam (where you can add it to your wishlist). Mobile pre-registration isn't yet available. Stay updated on Lunar Games' social media channels (X, Discord, TikTok, Instagram) and watch for the upcoming Kickstarter campaign.
