Critical Role Delays Campaign 3 Finale Amidst SoCal Wildfires
Due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, Critical Role has postponed this week's episode of Campaign 3. The impact on the cast, crew, and community has necessitated this delay. While a return on January 16th is hoped for, further postponements remain a possibility.
Campaign 3 is nearing its thrilling conclusion, with the recent episode ending on a significant cliffhanger. The exact number of remaining episodes is uncertain, but the end of this campaign is imminent, potentially paving the way for a new campaign using the Daggerheart TTRPG system.
The January 9th episode cancellation was announced due to the direct impact of the fires. Several cast and crew members were personally affected, including Matt Mercer and Marisha Ray who had to evacuate, and producer Kyle Shire who tragically lost his home. Others shared their relief at being safe.
While Critical Role aims to resume streaming on January 16th on Beacon and Twitch, further delays are understandable given the ongoing situation. The Critical Role community is urged to be patient and support those affected by the fires.
In line with this, the Critical Role Foundation is contributing $30,000 to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. This demonstrates the commitment of both the cast and the community to upholding Critical Role's motto: "Don't forget to love each other."
